TAWANG, Oct 15: The Arunachal Pradesh Building & Other Construction Workers’ Welfare Board (APB&OCWWB), Tawang unit conducted week-long awareness camps for the labourers at various labour camps in Tawang district.
The camps started from Taktsang Gonpa under Zemithang circle on October 7 followed by similar ones at labour camps at Y-Junction, Jang and finally at Dzela and Nuranang on October 14 last. During these camps the Registration Officer(RO) of APB&OCWWB Tawang, Phurpa Tsering gave awareness on the statutory benefits available for the registered labourers and shared information on registration process and benefit claims. He further informed the labourers about their enhancement of statutory benefits like maternity, death, marriage and home loans. On the last day of the camp, the RO was accompanied by Chairman, Losel Nyinje Charitable Society Tawang, Rinchin Norbu and President, Border Roads Organisation Labour Union(BROLU) Tawang Unit, Pema Wangdi and Secretary BROLU, Jang Dorje Tsering.
Cleanliness, hygiene and health were the other topics covered during the awareness camps. Non- statutory benefits like water filter and other items frequently needed by workers will be distributed to them during medical camps in coming days, informed RO. DIPRO
