ZIRO, May 9: To bring more colour and better participations to celebration of Dree golden jubilee, the central dree festival committee (CDFC) Ziro has for the first time introduced Women Dree Football Tournament this year which was kicked off today by Abishek Yadav, Assistant Commandant CRPF, Ziro here at Govt. Ziro Hr. Sec. School ground.

In his address as the Chief Guest, Abishekh appreciated Apatani community for maintaining age old traditions as well as their cultural practices despite influence of modernity. Congratulating the players for enlisting their names for the first time in history of Women Dree Football tournament, he suggested for maintaining sportsmanship spirit throughout the tournament.

Bamin Gumbo, Secretary General, CDFC while highlighting objectives for introducing women football tournament in celebrating Dree golden jubilee, asked players to gain knowledge from the tournament for taking part in bigger events.

The first league match of the tournament was played between All Hija Sports Association (AHSA) and Diibo Sports Club (DSC) in which the former won by 1-0. 

Sojang Lapang Sports Club (SLSC) defeated Laji Bogia Sporting Club (LBSC) by 2-0 in the second match of the day.
