ITANAGAR, Feb 19: Chief Minister Pema Khandu today said women empowerment is a high priority for the state government. He also added that when women are responsible and empowered, entire society stands to benefit from it. Khandu said this when members of Arunachal Pradesh State Commission for Women (APSCW) led by its Chairperson Radhilu Chai Techi called on him at his office today. During the meeting, the commission highlighted on important issues related to welfare of women and girl child to the Chief Minister. Chief Minister congratulated the new members of the commission and assured his support for strengthening of the body. Informing about PM Narendra Modi’s vision for women empowerment, Khandu said the days of seeing a woman as 'home makers' have gone and instead they are seen as crucial for growth of the country.
