DCM reviews hydropower projects to strengthen state energy roadmap
DAPORIJO, Dec 5: A team of officials from district administration, Forest Department and Police seized several wildlife meat during a search operation carried out within Daporijo township.
The Daporijo Forest Division informed that the seized wildlife meat included deer.
Legal proceedings have been initiated against the offenders under various sections of the Wildlife Protection Act.
Later, the seized wildlife carcasses were destroyed in the presence of CO cum Town Magistrate Dubom Apang, The operation was carried out to check illegal hunting and poaching of wildlife species in the district.
Further, Deputy Commissioner Danish Ashraf informed that such surprise checks would be done regularly in the district and strict action would be taken against those involved in such activities.
