Aalo/khonsa, Jul 13: West Siang and Tirap earned the status of ‘Covid-free’ districts on Monday with the discharge of Covid-19 positive patients from the respective Covid Care Centres (CCCs) after getting fully cured.
In West Siang, the second Covid-19 positive patient was released from the CCC at Circuit House Aalo amid fanfare in a small function. The patient, an army man hailing from Shi-Yomi district was admitted to the CCC after testing positive on June 26 last and after undergoing treatment his swab samples collected on July 4 and 6 came negative on Monday. An elated West Siang ADC Cum District Nodal Officer Liyi Bagra  spelt out the SOPs for the recovered patient like strict 14-day home quarantine, social distancing, wearing of mask, use of sanitizer and observing the self-reporting norms.
In Tirap, the two positive patients, both 103 RCC GREF personnel at Tirathju Hydel camp were discharged on Monday from the CCC, General Hospital Khonsa after being declared fully cured.
Tirap Deputy Commissioner Bhanu Prabha while congratulating all the frontline Covid workers for making the district Covid-free, also appealed them to maintain the tempo in coming days. 
With the release of the duo, currently there are no Covid positive patients in Tirap and the DMO declared the district Covid-free w.e.f July 13. 
The discharge ceremony was attended by Medical Superintendent Dr. K. Socia, DRCHO Dr. Nidak Angu,  District Surveillance Officer Dr. Palash Rakshit, GDMO Dr. Abbo Borang and nursing staff of the General Hospital. DIPRO
