Aalo, Jun 10: Keeping in view the growing number of Covid-19 positive cases in various districts of the state, many villages, colonies and crowded market areas in West Siang have again embraced self-isolation and started keeping faith on the age-old traditional rituals.
The biggest village in the district, Dark and almost all villages are now locked with no entry for people from outside. Villages and colonies have imposed their own lockdown rules and violations are even attracting penalties up to Rs.10,000 and village committees are also keeping a close vigil on the returnees from various zones of the country currently under home quarantine. Normally congested public places are having a deserted look after such lockdowns and introduction of the odd/even rule for vehicular traffic.
West Siang DC Moki Loyi has appealed the district’s people to extend their best cooperation in defeating the pandemic and obey the lockdown rules. DIPRO
