Aalo, May 28: With the aim of shielding West Siang in a more effective way from the Covid-19 pandemic, District Administration during a meeting on Thursday took a series of important decisions.
The marathon meeting held under chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Moki Loyi decided consensually to regulate traffic moment in the district on the basis of even and odd numbers. It was decided that to regulate crowd moment here in the township amid the current relaxations, vehicles bearing even numbers will ply on even days and those with odd on odd days and this new system will be strictly enforced after wide publicity. However, government vehicles will be exempted from purview of the order on roads and offices only and not in market places.
DC while stressing on showing zero complacency, reminded that two positive cases have been detected among the returnees and insisted on imposition of night curfew from 7 pm to 5 am. The meeting decided that a District Covid Control Room will be set up soon for dissemination of information and all willing Covid-19 volunteers will be engaged in multiple roles after due verification of character antecedents by the SP.
It was also decided to avoid social functions, import of livestock from outside the state and permission for sacrifice and sale of livestock under administration-decided prices will be granted only after verification by the Veterinary department and HGBs and GBs will strictly monitor the people under home quarantine or in schools. DC appealed all to generate mass awareness and continue fighting the pandemic as Team West Siang.
