AALO, Dec 7: West Siang District Football Association (WSDFA) concluded its 5th edition of WSDFA tournament today here at Darka football ground, which was kicked off on November 7 last.
Topin Ete, State Executive Member BJP and Brigadier Md. Shahid Ahmad, Commander 5th Infantry Brigade, Aalo graced the final match of the boys as chief guest and guest of honour respectively and Akar Hagong was the special guest.
Ete, while appreciating the WSDFA for successful completion of the tournament stressed on big opportunities that sports offers to youngsters. He further added that football has given number of legends to West Siang District citing the example of Gumpe Rime, National Coach for Goal Keeping.
In total 16 teams (Boys) from various football clubs under West Siang District participated in the tournament. West Siang being the centre of football lovers in Arunachal Pradesh, the WSDFA has for the first time simultaneously organised football tournament for girls teams, in which the final match was played between Nyiko FC and Legend FC which the former won by 4-0.
The final match (boys) was played between Kabu FC and Darka FC, which the former won by 3-1 goals and became the champion of the tournament.
The WSDFA is organising free coaching for children in the age group  6-12 years at various locations under West Siang District and supervising all zonal level tournaments.
