Aalo, Apr 16: West Siang District Administration has opened a public grievance cell to be manned by the staff of DC office for addressing the security concerns and grievances of the district’s people during the second phase of the lockdown.
The cell will remain functional from 1000 hrs to 1600 hours and the citizens may WhatsApp or e-mail their grievances to the given numbers as circulated on various forums. Meanwhile, as a part of the measures taken to mitigate the difficulties faced by stranded migrant labourers, out of the targeted 2872, 407 have either been provided food in relief camps or with ration from SDRF fund by the Disaster Management Department at the rate of Rs.60 per day to adults and Rs. 45 to minors. So far as MGNREGA is concerned, DRDA has not received any quota for the demand wages which is currently Rs. 202 per worker per day. Besides the above lockdown sustenance measures, the ‘Mask for All’ awareness campaign at sectors, offices and villages is being continued by APDA West Siang unit and ATPWDS. Voluntary donations also continue to flow in and businessman Gemar Lollen contributed Rs. 50,000, Boken Tea Owner Er. Kenjom Ete donated 200 packets of green tea and Nyabom Bagra of Aalo Yijo donated 100 handmade masks and 10 sanitizers.
