Aalo, Nov 9: The preliminary meeting regarding Yomgo River Festival 2019-20 was held under the Chairmanship of West Siang Deputy Commissioner here at the DC Conference Hall on November 8 last.
DC opined that venue of the festival needs to be decided first as construction of log and bamboo bridge over Yomgo river incurs both cost and security arrangement to accommodate thousands of people thronging the venue. The festival should be able to showcase rich values of culture, practices, art and handicraft from tourism perspective and all events have to be managed by professional Event Manager with separate committees for every event and a core committee to supervise the constituted committees for successful conduct of the celebration, DC said.  
District Tourism Officer, T.K.Kopak added that successful conduct of the festival of this huge size will require involvement of all sections of people to make it a calendar event in the district. HoDs also gave suggestions on  venue, date, mode of celebration, tendering of event, appointment of Event Manager, law and order, mobilization through social media etc. DIPRO
