ITANAGAR, Jul 2:The West Siang District Congress Committee has questioned the State government over the inordinate delay in road projects in the district.

Addressing media persons at press club, President DCC, West Siang, Marpin Basar alleged that the  state government has failed to complete the Trans Arunachal Highway  specially  in  West Siang district despite  the completion of all necessary  requirements.

As per  RTI reports, package-1 of  the TAH road project between Likabali-Basar has to be completed in 2019 and package-2 in 2018 as per the work allotment order by the Ministry of Road Transport & Highway.

The condition of roads in West Siang is in terrible condition where only 30 to 60 percent of the work has been completed, the report further added.

Furthermore, the DCC President has appealed the state government to direct the concern department to take precautionary measures for the safety of the common man to avoid untoward incident.

Levelling another allegation, Basar claimed of a scandal going on under the nose of the state government in Tourism sector. ‘Tourist lodge at Tirbin is being used by some individual whereas as per norms it has to go through proper tender and lease process after submitting of completion report by concern executing agencies .  Since last five years, the said lodge is running properly but nobody knows whether they are paying  taxes or not,’ stated the DCC President while demanding enquiry on the said project.
