BOMDILA, Mar 26: In an attempt to control the spread of COVID-19, Deputy Commissioner Karma Leki today directed for disinfecting the whole district in a matter of few days.
The arduous task of disinfecting the whole district beginning from district headquarters Bomdila, Pedung and Sera villages would be taken up by SSB and district Police under the supervision of the district administration.
The DIG SSB Bomdila Lama Thinley assured of seeking help from his Assam counterparts to disinfect the border areas of the district besides contributing for the same in other parts of the district.
Incidentally, Dirang Township in the district has already been disinfected by SSB on Wednesday.
A control room for essential commodities has also been set up in the DC’s office, Bomdila to ensure availability of essential commodities in the district.
DC Karma Leki directed BSNL, Airtel and Vodafone for uninterrupted net services in the district and asked the administrative officers to facilitate movement of their technicians in the district for the same. The power department was also directed to ensure uninterrupted power supply to these service providers.
Directing DMO and DSO on the importance and imminent need of home quarantine, self isolation and social distancing, DC Karma Leki expressed satisfaction over the law and order issues in the district.
Mobile Town broadcasting on daily basis is being carried out at Bomdila, concerned Sub-divisions and in all the Circles of the district on the Dos & Donts and also appealing the people to help in containing COVID-19 by staying indoors and complying with the directives. DIPRO
