BOMDILA, Dec 5: The West Kameng Police headed by Superintendent of Police Raja Banthia organized the first ever “Interaction Programme of Police with District Administration, Community Based Organisations and Public”.
The programme was graced by MLA –cum- Advisor to CM, Japu Deru along with Inspector General of Police Sunil Garg and Deputy Commissioner Dr. Sonal Swaroop.
The representatives of the six CBOs of the district unanimously hailed the pioneering initiative headed by SP, West Kameng and called for similar initiatives to be emulated throughout the state for better coordination between the Police, Administration and the public.
The members discussed on various issues like safety and security of commuters related to BCT road, rampant road accidents with the vehicles of Army, Cyber crimes, comprehensive traffic managements, tackling of marijuana etc.
Amongst the prominent issues raised by the CBOs were scarcity of police personnel in the district resulting in delayed PCR response, illegal poaching and timber operations in Kamengbari and Doimara area by intruders from adjoining Assam, sensitization of villagers including GBs and students pertaining to legal awareness.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr.Sonal Swaroop said safety and security of citizen is the first priority of both Police and Administration. She informed that due to the recent surge in  tourist inflow in the district the Arunachal Suraksha App launched by the Police department would benefit to a large extent to tourists as well as the local denizens. She appreciated the initiative by the district police, cooperation by the CBOs and advocated for conduct of similar programme on regular basis and asked CBOs to help in disseminating the usage of the App.
IGP Sunil Garg while addressing the gathering said every responsible citizen of the nation can deliver the duties abiding by the law and disseminating the message of peace and security within society. He further said that for police personnel physical fitness is mandatory for which regular events of games and sports should be organized by the district police.   

 He informed that the government is soon launching NERS (National Emergency Response System) which will club all the essential services including PCR, Ambulance, etc. in a single platform. He praised the initiative of the SP and directed him to carry the campaign to grassroots level in villages and schools including college students.

SP Raja Banthia briefed the house about Arunachal Suraksha App in detail  and also informed about formation of Student Police Cadets(SPC) in the district. He affirmed that all the innovative suggestions put forward by the CBOs and members present in the programme would be substantially made into practice. He further informed that the Police in the district has made time bound accomplishment of many assignments like Police Verification Certificates, Helpline response, etc.
