NAHARLAGUN, May 11: The Department of Legal Metrology & Consumer Affairs, West Kameng District booked 3 traders for violation of various provisions of the Legal Metrology Act, 2009.
Led by Assistant Controller, Tasso Guro, the traders were booked during a routine inspection at Bomdila market on Monday.
One of the traders who has been booked under Packaged Commodities Rules was found selling packaged items without the mandatory information like MRP while two of them were selling items with extra price stickers pasted over the manufacturer print price.
This kind of unfair practices will not be tolerated, said Guro and warned them not to repeat such irregularities in future. He also appealed consumers to lodge complaint to his office concerning such malpractices.
The team also inspected the lone petrol pump at Bomdila and test checked accuracy of delivery.
