BOMDILA, Jul 9: The West Kameng district administration with assistance from the Indian Army has swung into action to face the aftermath of the torrential rain that wreaked havoc in the district.
With BCT road, Kaspi and adjoining areas under Thrizino-Buragaon AC segment the hardest hit, the administration has prioritized evacuation of the injured and children of the Government Residential School Kaspi besides restoration of surface communication from Bomdila to Kaspi on a war footing.
On Sunday at around two in the afternoon, Pema Mosbu and his wife Kanchi Mosbu were swept away by flash flood and although grievously injured Pema had been evacuated by Maratha Light Infantry of the Army and is currently at the Military Hospital Dahung, his wife Mosbu is still reported to be missing.
The children of the Government Residential School Kaspi have been safely evacuated and sheltered at Singchung Inspection Bungalow.BRTF has succeeded in restoring the 35km road from district headquarters Bomdila to Kaspi for vehicular traffic. But it would take at least a couple of weeks before the BCT road opens for surface communication.
Meanwhile, relief materials have been distributed to the 17 affected families by ADC Singchung.

DC Sonal Swaroop informed that 14 BRTF would be installing a Bailey Bridge in place of the RCC Bridge which was completely washed out.PHED has also hired extra hands to restore water supply lines at Kaspi, Singchung and Nag Mandir areas but power supply at Kaspi is still to resume. Although police and SSB have been engaged in relief and rescue operations, services of the NDRF has also been sought by the district administration.

ADC Singchung T Pada along with Circle Officers G Doke and Sange Norbu, EAC (HQ) P Monpa and Superintendent of Police In-charge Dy SP T Jambey are constantly monitoring the situation. DIPRO
