BOMDILA, Apr 13: West Kameng District Administration on Monday convened yet another meeting to fine-tune the post-lockdown strategies.
All administrative officers, police and task force heads attended the meeting and DC Karma Leki observed that the fight against Covid-19 pandemic could be won only if fought unitedly and to break the chain of contagion, strict compliance of government directives and advisories is the only way out.
“Awareness, aggressive IEC campaigns and people’s cooperation are needs of the hour,” he said. Congratulating the administrative officers, frontline workers and police, he urged them to use their ingenuity for effective tracing and quarantining. “It’s for you to dispel the unfounded fear and misconceptions prevalent among people,” he added.
A major decision taken in the meeting to ensure availability of ration in all Circles of the district was to lift rice and pulses for the months of April, May and June under PM Garib Ann Yojana in one go and channelize the supply to vulnerable areas on priority basis.
Presenting an overview on the role of police in the fightback, SP Raja Banthia pointed out the need for properly sensitizing the people and garnering their cooperation to tide over the crucial phase. A noticeable role played by the district’s administrative officers was to convince the parents, guardians and others to dissuade their wards studying outside the state from coming back to their hometowns.
