BOMDILA, Jun 9: A coordination meeting to discuss the implementation methodology of Agriculture/Horticulture Cluster Farms and 8000 units of Nutritional Kitchen Gardens in all the four assembly constituencies in West Kameng district under the ‘Self-reliant India’ vision was held today here at the district headquarters.
Deputy Commissioner Karma Leki while underscoring the importance of cluster farms to reach the goal of becoming self-reliant, elaborated on the composition of the District Empowered Committee for nutritional kitchen gardens to be headed by him. Outlining the broad guidelines for selection of beneficiaries, DC reiterated the importance of Participatory Rural Appraisal and opined that a lot would depend on the Empowered Committee in materialising the idea into reality. He also directed the various committees to take the local legislators into confidence for early identification and finalization of beneficiaries.
Advocating for greater agricultural and horticultural activities in the state for self-sustenance, PD DRDA cum Member Secretary of the Empowered Committee directed the BDOs to immediately swing into action and prepare DPRs for the organic kitchen gardens in their respective blocks. He also urged the line departments like Agriculture, Horticulture, Fisheries, Veterinary and the KVKs to lend their full support and expertise.
The meeting was attended by the administrative officers, DAO, DHO, Sr. Scientists from KVK, DFDO, BDOs, PTAs and Block Mission Managers of ArSRLM. DIPRO
