BOMDILA, Jul 25: The first co-ordination, planning and development meeting of West Kameng were held today at district headquarters Bomdila. Presentations of works under the central and state programmes were presented and proposals for the year 2019-20 annual plan were put forward.

Chairing the meeting, MLA cum Chairman District Development Committee (DCC) Phurpa Tsering said that the MLAs are the service providers and acts as a bridge between the people and the government. He called upon the officers to be a part of the Team Arunachal for all round development of the district.

Championing the cause of the educated unemployed youths, MLA Phurpa asked the Deputy Commissioner to find out means and ways to positively channelize the youth energy and to bring them into the mainstream of life. He also expressed optimism in the possibilities of bringing suitable schemes from the sports and minority ministry but cautioned that there would be no scope for individual schemes.

Reiterating the need for a pro-active role by all the government officials, MLA Kumsi Sidisow said that the administration and all the other departments should strive to facilitate proper implementation of the schemes and the benefits should reach down to the targeted group at the grassroot level.

He observed that it is high time to strengthen and modernize the police force and create more infrastructures.

On the pending issue of materialization of the 4th IRBN at Kamengbari / Doimara for the last 6-7 years, Kumsi directed the forest officials to co-operate with other departments in question for early settlement of the 4th IRBN so vital in the security point of view in the Arunachal-Assam boundary.

Perplexed over the slow progress of the new Government College building at Wanghoo village, Kumsi said that it should be the collective responsibility of all the four Legislators of the district and the administration to ensure early completion and commencement of classes in the new building.

MLA DW Kharma appealed for change in one’s mindset for embarking on the path of development. Having come from the educational background as former DDSE of the district, Kharma pledged to effect transfer and postings of teachers within the constituency in order to bring in new vigor and a sense of responsibility to revitalize the education system which is in dire need.

Dwelling on the need to improve the power scenario, he directed the APEDA to provide the required equipments to the villagers dwelling in far-off places.

Bomdila being the district headquarters and the face & soul of the district, local MLA Dongru Siongju appealed the other three legislators to co-operate in taking Bomdila to newer heights.

He requested the Chairman DDC to give special care for Nafra administrative sub-division where there are no road connectivity or the roads which exist is in deplorable conditions.

Earlier, the Deputy Commissioner cum Vice-Chairman Sonal Swaroop said that the objective of the meeting was to finalize the schemes for the current financial year of the works department, formulating strategies, ensuring transparency, preparing five year perspective plan etc and urged the works departments, HoDs and the agencies to go for public oriented schemes only.

She also directed the Works department to prioritize few schemes out of the five year perspective plan for allocation from the state government for the year 2019-20.

Among others, all the independent ADCs, SP, Superintendent Engineers, Executive Engineers, DFOs, HODs and officers of the agencies attended the daylong meeting. DIPRO
