PASIGHAT, Feb 4: Chief Minister Pema Khandu today held an interactive session with the heads of the departments and government officers here in presence of DCM Chowna Mein and MLA Kaling Moyong.
Speaking during the occasion, CM said the state is eager to march ahead in all development spheres and invited the officers for their say on way forward. He said Arunachal is a blessed land and has potential to become one of the richest state in India. He said looking after the welfare of 1.4 million population of the state should not be a herculean task if there is a will to serve.
Lamenting that the state along with Nagaland has earned bad reputation in corruption ,he said it is high time to come out of such menace and those in position must take the lead and not lose the opportunity of making things better.
Chief Minister said bureaucrats are the main pillars of the government and their selfless contribution is vital for the growth of the state. Politicians come and go but bureaucrats are there to stay for long and hence play greater role in creating a better system, he remarked.
Khandu said he will never go for appeasement politics and that his dream is to make Arunachal a better place. As long as he is in chair, he will run the government without fear and without bowing to any individual interest but only in the larger interest of the people of the state.
He also said he wish to empower the institution of deputy commissioner and give more roles to officers to decide on development matters, given the fact that the entire planning process is being changed so that development aspirations of grassroot people are fully implemented.
Later the CM also had an interactive session with members of trading community and heard their grievances. CMO
