BHALUKPONG, Oct 21: A three-day workshop on Waste Management got underway here at the Indigenous Festival Ground today.
At least 200 participants are attending the workshop which is being organized jointly by the West Kameng District Administration, Department of Tourism & PHE Division, Bomdila under Swacchta Hi Seva Programme. It was inaugurated by EAC, Bhalukpong, Tomo Riba in presence of EE of PHED Bomdila.
Merwyn Coutinho, Ittisha Sharan, M. Z. Khan and Nilakshi Saikia from Northeast Waste Collective (NWC) & Plant Green are attending as Resource Persons. Focus will be on awareness and capacity building with a survey on current waste management practices, hands-on training on up-cycling of waste, management of electronic waste, cleanliness-cum-graffiti art campaign for beautification of public places and exploring possibilities for livelihood creation of unemployed youths.
