LONGDING, Jul 12: In a joint press statement, All Wancho Students Union, Wancho Council and Wancho Cultural Society   have expressed their resentment over the killing of two unarmed alleged NSCN (IM) cadres at Senua Noksa village of Longding district.

The Assam Rifles jawans under the command of its post commander, Wakka  opened fire for the whole night in the village that has  terrorized innocent villagers. The NSCN ( IM) is not an outlawed organization but it is recognized by the Government of India as a people’s movement for self determination,’ stated the release.

‘Such incidents of gruesome killing of unarmed person is violation of human rights and  it may aggravate the situation and disturb the peace and development of the district further. 

The Govt of India under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi is initiating peaceful solution to the long pending Naga issue. So peace should be maintained at this stage of political negotiation, for which we appeal for the cooperation of the entire stakeholders, stated the joint press release. .
