NAHARLAGUN, Sep 15: Department of Health and Family Welfare, GoAP organised a Prabhat Pheri/Walkathon here on Sunday morning from Sector A to Hathi Matha to mark the commencement of Ayushman Bharat Pakhwara.
More than 300 people participated in the event lead by DHS Dr Moromor Lego, DFW Dr A. Yirang, Jt DHS Dr S. Bhattacharjee and Deputy Director Nursing Dr Emi Rumi. Deputy Directors of Health Services, Nodal Officers of various Health Programmes, officials from Directorate of Health Services, Directorate of Family Welfare, TRIHMS and DMO ICC/Yupia, MOs of Capital Complex, Zion Nursing School, Programme Study Centre (MLHP), Vidya Sagar School and common people participated in the walkathon.
Nodal Officer-NHM Dr Dimong Padung briefed about AB Pakhwara and said that the fortnight celebration would conclude on October 2 next to increase awareness about the services available under Ayushman Bharat. State Nodal Officer-HWC Dr L Jampa informed that all Sub-centres, PHCs and UPHCs in the state would be upgraded to Health and Wellness Centres by 2022 where it will be the priority to provide all services including drugs and diagnostics and comprehensive primary health care free of cost. At present there are 72 Health and Wellness Centres operational in Arunachal Pradesh.
CEO-CMAAY/PMJAY Dr Tana Takum informed that PMJAY is the world’s largest health care scheme which provides up to Rs 5 lakhs per family per year as cashless treatment at empanelled hospitals. Those not included under PMJAY are covered under Chief Minister Arogya Arunachal Yojana where all empanelled hospitals, both private and public are providing free treatment under the scheme.
A skit-show by Health and Wellness Officers showcasing various services and benefits of Ayushman Bharat Scheme was performed to mark the inauguration of AB Pakhwara. Chief Guest of the function, Director Health Services Dr Moromor Lego advised all the districts and health facilities to observe Ayushman Bharat Pakhwara till October 2.
Various districts like East Siang, Lohit, Changlang etc. also observed Ayushman Bharat Pakhwara. It can be recalled that Ayushman Bharat or ‘Healthy India’, is a national level initiative launched in 2018 to achieve the vision of Universal Health Coverage.
