NAMSAI, Aug 1: Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein on Thursday visited Wakro Circle, which is one of the two Administrative Circles of the 46-Chowkham AC he represents. 
On visiting the Circle after assuming charge of Dy. CM of the state, Mein was accorded a rousing reception by the Lohit District Administration and public of Wakro Circle at the general ground. A meeting was also held where he interacted with the people to know their issues and needs and at least four public memorandums were submitted by public leaders and many more by individuals. Responding to some of the important points of the memorandums, he said that he is aware of them and would try to deliver through proper planning and prioritisation. Commenting on the demand for upgradation of Wakro to ADC headquarter, Mein said that he is also interested in the proposal but infrastructure has to be developed first in this regard. He appreciated that homestays of the circle are gaining popularity which others should also emulate. 
The Dy. CM informed that the present government is doing away with the parachuting of schemes which was on a top down method involving individual projects mostly and will be replaced by new policies for planning which will be processed through proper channel from district level committees. DC Lohit, Prince Dhawan and officers of various departments presented a Power Point Presentation on budget proposals for the fiscal year 2019-20 proposed in DPC in respect of Works Department of Wakro Circle. 
Mein inaugurated the office of the Wakro Women Welfare Society and lauded the members for bringing transformational change in the society. A video CD on homestays of Wakro Circle prepared by DC Lohit and District Tourism Officer was also released by him. DCM Media Cell
