ZIRO, Mar 19:Minister Home, RWD and Border Affairs, Kumar Waii, unveiled a series of developmental projects for the people of Ziro today. Coinciding with the onset of the Myoko festival, the gesture was warmly welcomed by the public.

At Old Ziro , Waii laid the foundation  stone for a new police station. Responding to the memorandum submitted by the Old Ziro Bazaar committee members for the construction of quarters for the police personnel , he  called for preparing a comprehensive master plan for the station and assured to provide funds at the earliest.

He then laid the foundation stones for Lempia and Keilya model villages. “Model village schemes should be implemented in true spirit as per the master plan. Infrastructural needs should be prioritized and quality of work should never be compromised, ” he added.

Later he inaugurated the 400 metres all- weather CC pavement from Yapuyang to Taro Taku Village. Addressing the villagers of Taru Taku village at Taku Lapang, he said,” You are blessed to be born in such a naturally gifted place. The beauty of this pristine valley still spells bounds me. It is your duty to preserve and propagate the beauty of this region. Let it be the tourist hub of the state. I on my part have allocated a massive chunk of developmental funds for Ziro, as I wish to see Ziro developed in all fronts and be every tourists chosen destination. I earnestly request all the executing agencies to judiciously use the allocated funds and give Ziro a complete makeover,” he further added.

He donated a month’s salary to the Goan buras and Goan buris attending the program.

Local MLA cum Parliamentary Secretary Er. Tage Taki called for keeping aside all political differences and working together towards a progressive and socially harmonized society. We should not let political vindictiveness hamper the developmental process, he added.

Former AYA president Taku Chatung also spoke on the occasion.

The Minister earlier also participated in the Myoko festivity organised by CE Kago Tabiyo at Hija.

Deputy Commissioner  Kemo Lollen, SP Bomge Kamduk, CE Er Kago Tabiyo, Officials from RWD Department and HoDs were present during the inaugural programs.
