DCM reviews hydropower projects to strengthen state energy roadmap
ITANAGAR, Feb 9: Home Minister, Kumar Waii on Friday lauded the men in uniform for excellent maintenance of law and order in the state including successful cracking of few of the very important cases.
Underlining the need for modernization of the state police force to meet the prevailing challenges, Waii assured to address all grievances of police working in the field including infrastructure bottlenecks as immediately as possible. He also called upon the district SPs for strengthening the police-public relations.
The Home Minister extended his appreciation in the annual meeting cum conference of SPs and COs, which aimed at deliberations on internal security and to address the professional issues related to policing held here at Police headquarters, PHQ Itanagar on Friday.
In his address, DGP, Sandeep Goel and Commissioner Home, GS Meena briefed about the present status of law and order situation with special focus on over-all improvement in the Police response to the public needs. Commissioner Home, Meena stressed on capacity building, training and police accountability.
DGP, Goel elaborated on efforts of Police in controlling drug menace , counter insurgency, rescue and relief measures, community policing initiatives such as tourist police, Nagrik - bhaichara committee , sports activities in the state etc.
The DGP’s address was followed by presentations by all district SPs and COs battalion in which various issues and challenges of policing were highlighted by the concerned officers. IGP, Sunil Garg also spoke on the occasion.-
