AALO, Mar 18:A 3-day long plantation and cleanliness drive around prime locations of Aalo town and its vicinity concluded on Saturday.

A huge procession themed ‘Green Aalo Clean Aalo’ was also taken out to mark the occasion.

The programme was organized by West Siang District Student Union and was joined by several colleges including students union.

Addressing the gathering, the Divisional Forest Officer Aalo Division, Abhinav Kumar stressed on preserving the greeneries and rich biodiversity of the district to make a conducive and healthy living.

Asserting that line departments are ready to extend help for a good cause, he exhorted everyone’s cooperation saying ‘whatever little we do today will largely benefit the future generation.’

The Deputy Director, Urban Development and Housing Er. Helley Welly, Dr. Nyage Geyi DMO, ACF Ranphoa Ngoaba and other officers were also part of the main event.

President WSDSU, Kukken Lukken Gamlin and Jumrik Bagra also highlighted the importance of plantation and cleanliness in the town and its vicinity. The Organizing Chairman and Vice Chairman of the 
cleanliness and plantation drive, Kiren Raksap and Gejom Tato disclosed that the union has given a face lift to the Welcome Gate of Aalo at Sipu bridge point 
and cleared all debris from the bridge.
