SEPPA, Aug 16:  NPP  MLA from  Seppa East  Constituency, Tapuk Taku participated in a mass tree plantation program organized by the Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya Almuni Association (VKVAA), East Kameng unit here at VKV Wessang on Friday.
Addressing the students of the school, Taku stressed on planting more trees in and around the campus. He appealed the students to participate in such program for a clean and healthy environment in the district. 
“Trees are considered as the basic to avoid global warming, control landslides and climate change. Thus, being a student it’s also your responsibility to educate those elders who are indulging in mass destruction of forest,” Taku said. 
He also advised the students to stay far from the use of any kind of drugs. Be dedicated to studies and make your parents proud, he added.
Meanwhile, VKVAA East Kameng unit member and the organizer of the program, Jiten Takar Kamsa said that, though the Almuni is working in various field but this plantation program was specifically to make students aware about the consequences of deforestation and encourage them to plant more and more trees. 
Earlier, the principal of the VKV Wessang and the Chairman of VKVAA district unit chairman also spoke on the occasion. Students, members of the alumni, few public and staff of the institution participated in the plantation program. Newsdesk
