PASIGHAT, Apr 17: Sibut village under Yagrung circle, some 11 KM from here which was established in the year 1961 observed its Golden Jubilee recently which was attended by Pasighat East MLA cum Parliamentary Secretary for Disaster Management, Kaling Moyong, Dy. Commissioner Pasighat, Tamiyo Tatak, DDSE, Jongge Yirang and others.

 

Prior to the commencement of the celebration, the villagers led by village secretary Onom Taki, GPM Tabit Tayeng, took the Chief Guest MLA Kaling Moyong and DC Tamiyo Tatak and showed the present situation of Poglek river bridge construction and Primary School Sibut and later submitted a memorandum to mitigate the basic problem of the villagers.

The villagers appealed for construction of concrete boundary wall, construction of Sibut-Rani village link road and flood protection/embankment along the west bank of Poglek river. Terming the Poglek river as sorrow of entire Bosing Banggo/region, the villagers felt the urgent need to raise flood embankment in the west side of the river to protect the village from further erosion. The link road connecting Rani Village and boundary wall construction around the village primary school was accepted by the local MLA Moyong who assured all possible help..

Earlier, during the beginning of the programme a monolith in loving memory of late Sengom Tayeng, the first village secretary of Sibut village donated by David Tayeng commemorating the 50th Year of Sibut village was unveiled by MLA Moyong.
