ITANAGAR, May 16:To improve healthcare delivery system urban primary health center was inaugurated at Rakap Colony by Parliamentary Secretary Health and Family Welfare, Phurpa Tsering in presence of Parliamentery Secy Urban Development & Town planning Techi Kaso, Deputy Commissioner Prince Dhawan and Councilor ward no 27 Taba Takia.

The Primary Health Center has been constructed under National Urban Health Mission (NUHM) and will remain open 24 x 7 to cater to the need of the public. There are already three functioning UPHC one at Karsingsa ,Pasighat and  Itafort.   

Tsering in his address urged doctors and nurses to be committed to provide quality healthcare.

Functionalizing the urban primary health center will not only minimize the pressure on state hospital but will prevent many patients from dying for want of medical emergency, he added. Assuring to construct pavement and retaining boundary wall around the hospital, he exhorted everyone to keep the Urban PHC clean. State should continue to work towards achieving National Quality Assurance certification, he added.

Mission Director Tapasya Ragav, stressed on maintaining all guidelines of LaQshya a Government of India initiative to improve quality Labour Room to reduce maternal and neonatal mortality rate. Urban PHC should remain open 24x7 to cater to any emergency and large population of urban area.   She emphasized on uploading the data correctly in time.

DMO Yupia Subu Tasso Kampu stressing to maintain the work culture said dereliction of duty will be treated seriously & directed the MOIC to maintain duty Roster. A memorandum was also submitted to Parliamentary secy. Heath & FW to upgrade the Dispensary Itafort to Urban PHC keeping in view the load of patients.
