YINGKIONG, Oct 28: District Task Force meeting under ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao Scheme’ of Upper Siang District was held under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Taper Pada here at the DC Conference Hall on October 25 last. 
CDPO, DD ICDS In-charge cum Nodal Officer BBBP Pakkar Nomuk gave a Power Point Presentation on implementation of the scheme in the district where he showcased activities like orientation and awareness camps, Beti Mahotsav, felicitation of CBSE toppers & sports personalities, health camps, baby shows, installation of hoardings, etc. DMO Dr. Dubom Bagra presented the status of child sex ratio in Upper Siang district and said that it is improving and as per 2018-19 it is 1000 except for Mariyang block where it is not up to the mark. SP Dr. Neelam Nega said that in tribal society, girl child has always been given equal treatment and it is continuing. General Secretary Arunachal Pradesh Women Welfare Society Upper Siang District Unit, Dr. Mity Jopir said that Beti Bachao Beti Padhao awareness programme should be intensified in remote villages like Ngaming and Lido of Tuting Block in order to give the message of importance of girl child education.
DC said that special awareness programmes will be organised soon in Millang, Adi Pasi and Jeying villages of Mariyang block to address the fluctuating child sex ratio. Beti Bachao Beti Padhao promo video and song were also launched on the day. DIPRO
