Balijan, Nov 2: United Doimukh Football Club (UDFC) lifted the 2nd All Papum Poma Students Union (APPSU) Football Cup 2019 today in the deciding match held here at the general ground amidst huge gathering.
A total of 10 teams from the three circles of Taraso, Sangdupota, Balijan of Papum Pare district and Assam took part which kicked off on October 19 last. The final match was played between United Doimukh FC vs Genesis FC where the former emerged victorious in penalty shootout by a 5-4 margin. Ratan Osen was  adjudged as highest scorer, Tajo Sampa as best goalkeeper and Ron Kanu as best player. The winning team received a cash prize of 1 lakh with certificate, trophy and medals while the runners-up went away with a cash prize of 50,000, certificate and trophy.
Youth leader Nabam Dodum, former All Kra Daadi District Students' Union (AKDDSU) President Gora Rikam Bhai attended as Chief Guest and Guest of Honour respectively. Both of them appealed the gathering and the players to maintain the spirit of game and maintain communal harmony, brotherhood and mutual relationship for peace and prosperity of the people living in either side of the border of Arunachal Pradesh and Assam.
Several students leaders from All Assam Gorkha Students’ Union, Biswanath District Students’ Union, All Assam Tea Tribe Students’ Association, All Bodo Students’ Union, branch students’ union leaders from several areas of Biswanath district,  former ANSU President Likha Teji, APPSU President Tassar Levi, executive members of APPDSU, local leaders of Balijan and former PRI leaders of the area were present on the occasion.
