Kharsang, Jul 13: Reacting to the lackadaisical attitude of officials of the GeoEnpro Petroleum Ltd, Kharsang  toward the local people, Kharsang Circle Unemployment Youth Association, Tangsa Youth Association,  All Changlang Dist Students Union, All Tangsa Student Union has threatened to resort to indefinite democratic movement in the district.
Despite the fact that the country is reeling through tough time owing to the outbreak of Coronavirus and despite repeated appeals from Prime Minister Narendra Modi not to sack employees in this time of pandemic, the GeoEnpro petroleum Pvt Ltd. Kharsang, has maliciously terminated nineteenth (19) employees from jobs on June 25. In such a time of crisis where there's no hope of finding any other job or employment, the company has made its employees suffer and left them unattended, stated President Kharsang circle Unemployment Youth Association, Munpong Khimhun.
Joining the demand, Secretary Education, ACDSU Okam Morang stated ‘All Changlang District students union strongly condemn such attitude of the company and has urged them time and again to reconsider its decision and reinstate all of the employees. However, even after a mass agitation and two rounds of talk, it seems, the GeoEnpro is obstinate as well as too arrogant to accept our plea.
Therefore, terming the whole episode a "blatant disregard" on the part of the GeoEnpro Petroleum Pvt Ltd., the students union would no longer succumb to the corporate politics rather the union will resort to mass democratic movement in solidarity with the affected families and will stand for the poor employees until justice is delivered, stated Morang.
