ITANAGAR, Feb 9:In the wake of the gruesome murder of a cashier, Rural Bank at Mebo under East Siang on Wednesday, the Students Union Movement of All Arunachal East Siang district (SUMAAESU) has appealed people from all sections of society to remain calm and maintain peace and tranquillity at this hour of crisis.

Strongly condemning the incident, its president, Zinge Moyong has urged the district administration to trace out the culprits  as soon as possible to give justice to aggrieved family and sought exemplary punishments against  those involved in the murder.

In this regards, a team of SUMAAESU led by Moyong met Deputy Commissioner on Thursday at his office chamber and submitted a three point memorandum which include installation of CCTV cameras in strategic locations under Pasighat town, creation of new check posts on left bank of Siang river at Siluk Village and Gadum village bordering Assam with CCTV installation and strict checking of ILP in all entry gates. The DC assured to look into the demands of the visiting team.

The team also paid a visit to Officer In charge, Mebo PS and urged him to expedite the case to bring back normalcy and harmony in the area.  Later SUMAAESU team addressed a public gathering at Mebo, which was convened in connection with the case and informed the gathering that DA  has seriously taken up the issue and urged people  not to panic and cooperate with the police for early arrest of the perpetrators.
