Itanagar, Mar 26: Five candidates from various political parties on Tuesday filed their nomination from Arunachal West Lok Sabha.
Kiren Rijiju, Nabam Tuki, Ruhi Tagum, Bimpak Siga and Toko Sheetal filed their nomination for member of Parliament in the  Office of Returning Officer I- Arunachal West Parliamentary Constituency Ms Mamu Hage.
Union minister Kiren Rijiju on Tuesday filed his nomination as the BJP candidate for the Arunachal West parliamentary constituency.
Rijiju filed his papers at Aalo, the headquarters of West Siang district, election officials said.
The Union Minister of Earth Sciences and Food Processing Industries was accompanied by Chief Minister Pema Khandu and MLAs Kento Jini and Nyamar Karbak.
Arunachal Pradesh will have simultaneous Lok Sabha and assembly polls in the first phase on April 19. The northeastern state has two Lok Sabha seats and 60 assembly constituencies.
I appeal to the people to participate in the electoral process peacefully, Rijiju told reporters after filing his nomination.
Former chief minister and president of the Arunachal Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC), Nabam Tuki, also filed his nomination from the Arunachal West seat.
Last date of filing nomination is on March 27, Date of scrutiny of nomination is on 28th March and last date of withdrawal of candidature is on March 29.
Sitting MP Tapir Gao today filed his nomination papers for the Arunachal Pradesh East seat for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
Tapir Gao has filed his nomination papers at the DC office in Tezu.
He was accompanied by MLA and general secretary of BJP state committee, Chow Zignu Namchoom and chairman of the Campaign Committee of Arunachal (East) parliamentary constituency, Kanggong Taku.
Tapir Gao who is fighting for another term, is pitted against former minister and state Congress working president Bosiram Siram, independent candidates– Omal Nitik, Tamat Gamoh and Sotai Kri.
Tapir Gao was elected to the Lok Sabha in 2004. He lost the seat in 2009 and 2014 to former Congress leader and now BJP leader Ninong Ering. Gao was again elected in 2019.
Arunachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly's Speaker Pasang Dorjee Sona also filed his nomination today as the official candidate of Bharatiya Janata Party. The nomination is for the upcoming 2024 Assembly Election from the 33-Mechukha (ST) Assembly Constituency.
The filing took place at the Returning Officer's office in Mechukha, attended by BJP party workers and supporters. 
Counting of votes for the assembly polls would take place on June 2, and for the Lok Sabha elections on June 4.
Following nominations were filed today for the ensuing assembly election for the three assembly constituencies of Papum Pare district.  
Those who filed the nominations include Techi Kaso of BJP and Tai Tadap of NPP for 13- Itanagar AC, Tana Hali Tara of BJP, Nabam Vivek of PPA and Nabam Tado of INC for 14-Doimukh AC and Ratu Techi of BJP for 15-Sagalee AC.
