ITANAGAR, Jul 6:Flagging the issue of acute manpower shortage in the General Hospital Aalo, the Galo Students Union has urged the state government to post the required numbers within a month’s time for the welfare of the general public.
A team of GSU led by its President Binya Ronya called on the Minister, Health & Family Welfare, Alo Libang and submitted a representation regarding shortage of doctors and other medical staffers in the General Hospital, Aalo .
The union apprised the Minister that ever since its upgradation from District Hospital, the condition of the said hospital has become pathetic as most doctors including specialists have been transferred to Tomo Riba Institute of Health and Medical Science (TRIHMS) without relievers in place.
As per record, the General Hospital Aalo is run by only five Casualty Doctors/GDMO Doctors and eight doctors in Homeopathy and others, which is not even half of the required strength of 34.
With the present number of manpower it is next to impossible to attend or deliver necessary and satisfactory service to such a large population especially to the poor populace of the said area in particular and the people of neighbouring district in general, asserted the student body.
Further claiming that the transferred doctors are still drawing salary from the hospital, the union asked for stopping the same and posting of relievers immediately.
