ITANAGAR, Jul 28: Taking a strong exception to the low quality of maintenance work on the National Highway from Tai to Pangin by an Assam based firm,  the West Siang District Students Union (WSDSU)  has submitted a memorandum to the Deputy Commissioner  West Siang to direct the executing  agency  to maintain the quality of work and ensure its early completion failing which it would resort to democratic movement.
While  strongly condemning  the executing firm for the low quality  of works, WSDSU  added that the work was awarded during the financial year 2017-18, but the progress is very slow which has severely affected vehicular traffic movement rendering patients referred outside for further medical treatment and students studying outside as the worst sufferers.
Stating that the said road also connects West Siang, Siang and Si-Yomi districts and used by the defence personnel as well, WSDU further lamented that potholes had developed at various stretches within a short period of its carpeting. Newsdesk
