ITANAGAR, Dec 11: In a representation addressed to the Chief Secretary, the All Arunachal Pradesh Students Union (AAPSU) has urged him to direct the concerned authority to construct the ongoing four-laning of NH-415 following the laid down guidelines of National Highway authorities.
Referring to point No. 10 mentioned in a minute of the meeting issued by CS office held with AAPSU and others, wherein it was reflected that the AAPSU is also a party to the decision where the minimum width of 24 meters must be ensured throughout the stretch of NH-415.
Terming the particular point as contrary to the stand of the Union, the AAPSU while citing its earlier memorandum submitted to him clarified that there it was clearly stated that construction of NH 415 should be as per the laid down guidelines of National Highway authorities and any violation will tantamount to deviating from government notification.
Hence, keeping in consideration the future interest of the twin capital, the AAPSU said "we disassociate from any such minutes which are against the welfare of the common people in getting good roads".
It also reiterated that the state government and capital administration should proceed with the National Highway 415 construction without second thought maintaining the National Highway Authority guidelines.
Further citing a government notification Memo issue on March 2006 and recent cabinet decision taken on October 8 last to evict all the illegal structures within the ROW from Chandranagar to Vivek Vihar, the union urged the CS to continue its eviction drive in the same spirit measuring 15/15 in both the sides.
