DIYUN, Sep 4:  An under-trial prisoner reportedly committed suicide inside the premises of  the jail in Diyun Police station of Changlang district on Monday last. The deceased has been identified as Rajkumar Chakma.
Chakma had been arrested and was under judicial custody in C/W DYN PS Case No.-04/19, U/S-431/364 A/ 120 B/ 201 IPC, R/W Sec 25 (1B) (A) Arms Act. As per reports, while all were sleeping, the deceased hung himself from an iron rod in the prison window by using his cloth. When contacted, an official informed this daily that a case UD case No.-03/19, U/S 174 CrPc was registered to initiate a probe into the incident. The inquest was conducted in the presence of the Magistrate and post-mortem will be conducted by the board of doctors, the official added.
