CHANGLANG, Apr 4: Acting on a tip-off, the district police along with a team of 19 Assam Rifles and 171 Bn CRPF under supervision of SP Changlang  Mihin Gambo launched a joint operation in the general area of Longvi village and arrested two ULFA (I) cadres.
Disclosing about the arrest, security official informed that the response came following input about sneaking of ULFA cadres to Changlang district from Myanmar side to carry-out illegal activities. The joint team swung into action and during operation suspicious movement was noticed at the general area of Longvi during which two cadres tried to run away towards the international border. The joint team immediately swung into action and apprehended the cadres before they could slip away in the dense forest.
On interrogation, duo revealed that they are active cadres of ULFA (I) outfit and identified themselves as Self Style Pvt Jahnu Boruah(20) from  Dibrugarh and SS Pvt Chandrakanta Likharu, (26 ) of  Karbi-Anglong, Assam.
On further interrogation, they revealed that they came from ULFA (I) camp based inside Myanmar. After crossing the Indo-Myanmar border they reached the general area of Longvi village through forest tract on the way to Assam to carry out illegal activities.
Meanwhile, SP Changlang  Mihin Gambo  lauded the OC Jairampur, OC Nampong and team of 19 Assam Rifle and 171 Bn CRPF for prompt action leading to the successful apprehending of two cadres of ULFA (I), stated a release.
