NAHARLAGUN, Sep 20:Naharlagun police has arrested two suspects in connection with the alleged murder case that took place here at E- Sector on Wednesday. The deceased identified as Jayanta Majumdar,27, of Coochbehar, West Bengal was employed in a private school here at Naharlagun for the last two years.
SP Capital M Harsha Vardhan informed that on Wednesday night around 11.30 pm, telephonic information was received regarding an assault on a person near Shiv Mandir at E Sector.
Subsequently, a police team rushed to the spot and brought the seriously injured person to the Tomo Riba Institute of Medical & Health Science (TRIMHS) where he was declared dead.
After registering a case vide Naharlagun PS case. No. 171/18 u/s- 302 IPC, a police team led by Inspector Tadu Hassang on basis of information provided by witnesses chased down the accused within an hour of search operation.
“The age of the two accused is being verified as they may be juveniles since they are students of Class 9 and 10. One of them belongs from Kurung Kumey while the other from East Kameng district,' the SP added.
