ITANAGAR, Mar 29: Two separate cases of fire incidents were reported in the capital complex on Sunday. However, no cases of casualty were reported, Sujit Chakraborty, an officer in the fire department said.
The first case was registered around 3:15 am, where a fire broke out in the Kerala Bakery located at the Nirjuli Market line.
He said that a fire tender at Naharlagun station stopped the fire from spreading in the locality. The reason for the fire is likely to be a short circuit.
The second incident was reported at 3.30 PM to the Fire station, Itanagar after residents complained of sighting thick smoke visible in Mowb area.
On receiving the information, Itanagar Fire Station Officer, Koj Taro said that a fire tender was sent to the Niti Vihar area to locate the spot and it was later found that the smoke was coming from the Dariya hillside after a local set fire to clear the jungle.
