NIRJULI, Dec 24: A motorcyclist and pillion rider were killed when a bike they were riding met with an accident at D Sector colony, Nirjuli on Tuesday morning.
The police have identified the deceased as Kacho Bagang and Nyakam Bagang, both residents of Anya Colony Banderdewa and hailing from Chayangtajo, East Kameng.
On getting the information about the accident at around 7:55am this morning, the SP in-charge of the capital, JK Lego said that the duty officer ASI, a team of Nirjuli police station led by Duty Officer ASI K. Tacha arrived at the scene and brought the body for identification.
The SP said that preliminary investigation has revealed that it was a suspected case of  accident.  However,  other angles are also being investigated to find out the exact cause of the accident, the SP added.
A  local dao (machete) and the motorcycle was also seized, the SP further told.
An unnatural death case vide Nirjuli police station u/d Case No. 5/19 U/S 174 CrPC was registered  and the body of the deceased have been handed over to the relatives after conducting autopsy.
