NAMSAI, Aug 22: Two people were arrested with opium by Namsai police during a random MV checking at Tengapani area today.
The arrests were made during checking for people driving in an inebriated state. During the process, a few police personnel spotted two people on different bikes and on suspicion stopped them and recovered opium smeared strips weighing approximately 300 gms from them.
The person arrested are Lokhindro Moran, 36, and Dadu Mohonto, 38 both hailing from village Khopatoli(Dirak),Tinsukia(Assam).
Meanwhile, a case vide NMS PS C/No.47/19 u/s 17(b) NDPS Act has been registered, informed police.
