ITANAGAR, Apr 13:
The Town Vending Committee held its second meeting on Thursday.
Initiating the meeting Habung Lampung Chief Municipal Executive
Officer informed the members of the action taken reports as per last
meeting.
Accordingly every existing vending zones in Itanagar and Naharlagun
have been surveyed by CMEO with EAC Itanagar, EAC Naharlagun and SDPO
Itanagar and representative of vendors associations where existing
vending zones and vendors have been surveyed.
Town Planner Likha Suraj made a detailed powerpoint presentation on
various issues on vendors and their possible solutions. Participating
in the meeting, Deputy Commissioner Prince Dhawan suggested that 2
subcommittees under EAC Itanagar and Naharlagun should be formed to
identify vending zones taking into account upcoming four laning works,
footpaths. He also suggested that proper licences system should be
evolved that vendors should also be provided uniforms.
Also attending the meeting, Chief Councillor Kipa Kaku suggested that
there should be team work among all stakeholders.
Nabam Roger representing vendors highlighted various legal provisions
for the welfare and protections of vendors.
President Itanagar Market Welfare Association, Yumlam Achung suggested
that TVC should work for beautification of Capital Complex.
Members of TVC also resolved to draw modalities of Registrations of
vendors which shall be initiated through IMC.
