BJP Arunachal condemns Opposition for blocking Women’s Reservation Bill
ITANAGAR, Jul 11: The All Arunachal Contractors’ Welfare Association (AACWA) has alleged that lack of proper planning on part of the State Health Department has caused community transmission of Covid-19 in twin capitals with TRIHMS the centre of spread.
In a press release issued on Saturday, AACWA said that since the TRIHMS is catering to both Covid patients and routine OPD services, OPD patients are unknowingly becoming vulnerable due to lack of precautions. The association has opined that community transmission has its origin in the TRIHMS itself as a doctor and a pharmacist here have been detected positive and unrestricted access of sweepers and other Grade D in Covid blocks is also increasing the chances of community spread.
AACWA claimed that a major portion of the fund meant for Covid expenses has been used for allotting supply orders to various contractors and the more important requirements such as providing PPE kits and other protective equipment to doctors, nurses, police and other frontline workers have been overlooked.
It also pointed out the failure of the Health Department in setting up independent Covid hospitals in twin capitals even after 6 months of the virus’s emergence. “Announcing lockdown is not a solution to contain community spread of coronavirus, due to which daily wages labourers and transport businesses comprising taxi, auto, tempo and other commercial vehicles are suffering,” the release read.
The association has also mentioned that since the TRIHMS is the lone sample collection centre in twin capitals which is always overloaded with returnees serving quarantine periods, many willing denizens are unable to give their samples for testing. As a solution to this problem, AACWA has suggested that Health Department should enlist more private hospitals and pharmacies for collecting Covid samples. AACWA PR
