Aalo, Oct 3: Prizes for the Online Travel Writing Contest on the topic ‘Experiences from any Unexplored Destination in West Siang & Shi-Yomi District’ were given away to the winners during an Award Giving Ceremony also commemorating the Gandhi Jayanti and Paryatan Parv here at a private hotel on October 2 last.
Writers Daniel Sequeira from Mumbai, Nishant Sinha from Guwahati, Tojum Riba from Itanagar, Dr. Mrs Tsering Wangmo from Imphal and Tania Louis from Mumbai bagged the 1st, 2nd ,3rd , 4th and 5th prizes and West Siang Deputy Commissioner gave away the prizes amounting to Rs.35,000, 25,000, 15,000 and Rs. 5000 respectively along with certificates to the winners. The contest was conducted by the West Siang Tourism department under supervision of West Siang DA and altogether 18 writers from various parts of the country who were associated with the districts in the past took part. DC and DFO Abhinav Kumar lauded the keen interest shown by the writers and District Tourism Officer T.K. Kopak highlighted the detailed objectives behind the contest, besides expressing gratitude for making the maiden initiative successful.
The prize winners who wrote on the districts’ environment, cuisine and attractions also shared their rich experiences with gathering. DIPRO
