ITANAGAR, Oct 30: In a meeting of the State Task Force on Mobility, Chief Secretary Satya Gopal asked the Transport Department to come out with innovative ideas to improve the conventional mobility of the State and to take it to a whole different level, where it is practical, cheap yet has a strong last line connectivity.
While reiterating the address of the Prime Minister in the Global Mobility Meet MOVE in New Delhi on 7th September, Chief Secretary Gopal said that the future of mobility of the State should be based on the 7Cs of Common, Connected, Convenient, Congestion-free, Charged, Clean, and Cutting-edge as pointed out by the Prime Minister of India.
In the meeting it was decided to constitute a Committee under the Chairmanship of Dr. A.C. Verma and other senior officers which would list out the challenges, ideas and suggest the State Government with innovative solutions through which different issues of mobility can be solved and brought in the state.
All the technological solutions however should be taken keeping in view the pros and cons of environment issues, he added.
The idea of electronic transport system like e-buses and e-rickshaws were also discussed in the meeting.
Commissioner Home, Secretary Transport, Secretary Finance etc were present in the meeting.
