PASIGHAT, Oct 18: The East Siang unit of All Arunachal Pradesh Public Transport Federation (AAPPTF) has called upon the deputy commissioner to declare the stretch of road between the State Bank of India’s office to the Old Sumo Stand here a ‘No Parking Zone’ for commercial vehicles.
The federation in a representation submitted to the DC on Friday said that “Soon after all the ticket booking counters of Pasighat bazaar were shifted to the new parking lot in 2 mile area, the vacated spot between State Bank of India’s office to the Old Sumo Stand is gradually being occupied by the commercial vehicle owners and drivers who are parking their vehicles there and causing traffic congestions.”
If the said place is declared as a ‘No Parking Zone’ for commercial vehicles there will be sufficient parking space for public/private vehicles, the AAPPTF said in its representation further appealing the deputy commissioner to take the necessary steps. Newsdesk
