PASIGHAT, Dec 4: A two day training cum demonstration programme on fish feed management in fresh water fish culture began at Town Club, Pasighat today in which more than 100 fish farmers from East Siang District participated with great enthusiasm and interest.
The programme is being organized by Central Institute of Freshwater Aquaculture (CIFA), Kausalyaganga, Bhubaneswar, Odisha under Indian Council of Agriculture Research (ICAR) in collaboration with District Fishery Development Office, Pasighat.
Attending as Chief Guest, Dr. B.N. Hazarika, Dean, College of Horticulture & Forestry, Pasighat under Central Agriculture University, Imphal appreciated the joint effort and initiative of CIFA and DFDO Pasighat, Dayum Davi where fish farmers of the district are given knowhow and ideas to prepare locally available fish feed for proper and large scale fish farming for commercial purposes.
Talking at the sideline of the programme, DFDO, East Siang, Dayum Davi said that, the main purpose of the department is to help and assist the fish farmers of the district to enhance the production of freshwater fish which will in turn be helpful in enhancing the profit of the fish farmer.
