PASIGHAT, Oct 12: A constituency level training for master trainers on EVMs and VVPAT was organized here today under the supervision of East Siang DC cum DEO, Tamiyo Tatak at the Siang Hall.

Briefing the objective of the programme, Tatak informed that the Election Commission of India (ECI) is introducing EVMs with VVPAT for the upcoming election process.

He said that the VVPAT is a paper slip which will come out of the EVMs when a voter casts his vote which also shows on which symbol and candidate the voter has cast his vote.

Master trainers and staffers from Mebo, Ruksin, Nari, Pengin and Boleng participated and cleared their doubts during the daylong training. District Level Master Trainer Devraj Singh, DIO (NIC) imparted the training on installation and operation of Electronic Voting Machines (EVM) and Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail (VVPAT) system.
